...we are usually a bit crafty. Early last week Mum came up for a nice little visit. She brought pretty much all of the supplies to make these sweet Easter cups she'd seen here. This blog is so sweet and she often has inspiring "Artful Thursdays" posts where she shows how make the cutest things (oh, I just saw her latest post from last week - oooh, they always make me sigh with sweetness!). But the Easter cup post was one that really inspired Mum and she just had to make some herself. The cups reminded her of when she was a little girl and lots of little things were made with crepe paper. She also recalled the time when she was in gradeschool and someone had made caps & gowns for her whole class entirely out of crepe paper! She also wanted to make them for Easter to have at the table at each spot (or maybe just each child's place depending on how many she could get done). Besides making a huge feast for most holidays, Mum also likes to try to add a little sweet touch at the table setting too... So I dug out a few of my millinery flowers & leaves and helped pull into ruffles some of the crepe paper she had already sewn. But I really only made one complete cup - the blue one above! Yet it was just nice to sit and slowly pull crepe paper and chat and just be with Mum. Crafting along with someone else is always fun, oui?
